Implementing a transit system would be a huge aid to those with disabilities and help offset the density of traffic moving through the campus.

If we are going to have zone parking then a transit system would be very helpful to have to help students get around campus.

I feel like I should make it known to administration that those of us with disabilities (I have arthritis) find it extremely hard to walk long distances, especially in the heat that Alabama has. The disability tag is out of option for me right now because I do not federally want to be disabled. I can walk short distances such as to the grocery store and thus do not need it for everyday life and would like to save it for those who do need it. That being said, the thought of walking 20, 30, even 45 minutes to some classes makes me dread classes. I would rather not go than have to walk that and be in pain and sick by the time I got to class. Zone parking is fine, and many colleges do it. The difference is they have transportation systems to get you from those far away dorms to the classes you need without making you walk the extreme distance. Additionally, most colleges have their "departments" in one place. Our buildings are extremely far apart from one another (Cramer and Tech Hall going to Morton or the dorms). Again, these distances seem harrowing even for the healthiest of students. For the sake of those of us with "hidden disabilities", please reconsider this decision.

I wouldn't care about not having a bus or other means of transportation with the zone parking if they had at least cut the decal price a bit. I went from being able to park wherever I wanted to having roughly four lots to choose from. That's ridiculous at $120 a year.

They've announced assigned parking and bike racks but haven't provided other forms of transport for student. Having a transit system in place would be very beneficial for students who don't have bikes and whose parking spots are zoned far from class.

I believe a transit system would help students out tremendously with their everyday routes on campus. As an alumni who goes to the UFC 5 days a week, I would love to see students be provided transportation on campus.

Why does the new parking decal cost the same and we barely have parking options and have to use my feet more than my car?

The campus loop is a bit too long to not have a bus system. Having a bus from say Morton to Tech Hall would be much safer and faster than crossing Sparkman on foot. Also, a bus system would likely help those handicapped or incapable of walking long distances get to class, especially with the now restricted parking.

I am not enthralled by the idea if walking across Sparkman drive and getting run over by people coming off the freeway going over 60 miles an hour.

This would be extremely helpful! As much as I like walking, I hate having to carry a backpack filled with books and a laptop which can get heavy!

A transit system would mean students with only a semester left of school could get to campus without paying an extremely unfair amount of money to park. They could get around campus during intense weather and temperatures safely. There would be less traffic and accidents.

If we didn't go to zone parking we would need a transit system. They should've built more parking than that new student center they just built

Considering how far across campus classes can take you as you go from Lib arts side to STEM side, not having transit is a terrible idea, especially for all of the night classes that occur. Parking @ Franz and then going to a class @ Tech and then having to go take a class at morton after would be quite difficult for some poeple. The parking deck won't suffice for "anyone can park here to bridge the distance gap". There's just not enough parking in it.
