If students are only going to be allowed to park in certain lots, implementation of a transit system will become far more important. Adding this will not only make student life easier, but also will be far more convenient and used more on rainy days and into the winter months. It will also allow for reliable transport to tech hall.
Bottom line is that if UAH wants to implement the advice from last year's parking study, they shouldn't just have the cheap part.

I believe that if a student is confined to parking only in certain areas, then there should be some sort of transit. There's no sense in parking on one side of the campus (just because that's the only place you're allowed to park), just to walk all the way to the other side.

The reason there is no interest is because we never had zoned parking. Now that zoned parking is going to be a thing, on campus buses will be needed so we can get from our parking lots to our buildings

I am an alumni but still a very frequent visitor to campus. I would definitely use a transit system.

Our furthest walk on campus is 20 minutes tops (I've done it before). So let's say that we do get a transit system, that means that you'll have to wait for the bus to arrive, so let's say that takes 5 minutes, which would be extremely quick, then you get on and it gets going 5 minutes later (that's already 10 minutes), then you stop two or three times at other stops (which is 15 more minutes), and then you finally arrive at your destination 25 minutes later when you could have just walked to your next class. I'm not saying that we won't eventually need a transit system one day, I'm just saying that we need to give zoned parking a try before everyone starts complaining so much about it without ever even using it. Plus I can guarantee that 99% of people that have signed this never even went to the three parking forums hosted for students to have a voice in what the parking situation should be this next year (which we were all emailed the date, time, and location for), and to ask questions about it. For those of you that are disabled, you can go to UAH PD and argue your case to get a special permit to be able to park anywhere. I'm just saying that we should give zoned parking a try before already starting to complain about it, thank you.

I've recently graduated from this he'll hole and I find it rediculous that Mr. "Parking needs to cost an arm and a leg to pay for my beach house" doesn't think the students need a transit system. Is he serious??? Let him book it from Roberts to Material Science in 10 minutes and see how he feels. If I could sign this multiple times, I would.

UAH needs to stop dancing around the problem. Its a commuter school. Most students commute. They can't keep depriving students of decent parking. Zoned parking will not fix the problem but if arent willing to make more parking lots, a transit system might do.

For the price of our parking tag, and limited places to park, we should be given a transit system at UAH. Parking is now limited even more for students; there are many with disabilities who are physically unable to walk across campus. I have to go to work often right after classes, and having to walk at least 10-15 minutes would make me late. It's going to be even harder now to get a parking spot unless you offer more transportation options on campus.

The new zoned parking takes an already difficult situation and makes it worse. It's usually hard enough finding a parking spot anywhere close to class during peak hours so I believe it'll be much worse once the school year starts. As a student who has back to back classes on the far ends of campus, this seriously concerns me. The parking garage already doesn't have enough room to accommodate every student and the parking lots near the classes fill up pretty quickly. To top it off, decals are still $120 despite parking options being limited drastically. A transit system will definitely help with the transition
