Either transit or more time to travel between classes.

I have students complain about being late to classes because the buildings are so far apart, resorting to driving and not finding a parking space. Now that student parking is about to be zoned away from my building i can only imagine that this problem will worsen.

I am graduating this summer with intent to come back for grad school. As I have attended UAH, major parking lots have been taken away, and parking has been added on the outskirts of campus. This makes it take longer to get to where I need to be. I understand wanting to make the campus more residential friendly, but we have too many commuters to be taking away parking. But since this is what happened, the least the university could do is offer a transit system. There have been semesters where I need to go from the Optics Building to the Library or Roberts Hall. I cannot personally make that trip in 15 minutes. And when I do make there, I am completely out of breath and sweating like crazy. Please give us a transit system.

As a former student who recently graduated, I find this new limited commuter parking situation to be particularly troublesome for currently enrolled students. Since parking options have been severely limited for anyone who drives and parks on campus for classes, it will be a very serious problem in the upcoming fall semester for students to safely and adequately travel around campus. This will be especially true for students who have to commute across Sparkman Drive (such as classes in Tech Hall), where I have personally witnessed pedestrians almost get hit by cars on that busy road. As much as I totally disagree with the new parking system, I know the university will not change their mind seeing as how they spent large amounts of our money on the research gathered to produce this parking system, and how they have also been forcing more and more students to live on campus - therefore furthering their income from the students. If they are going to limit our parking options, then the university should be held accountable for a sufficient, and efficient, transit system provided by the University at THE UNIVERSITY'S expense NOT AT THE STUDENT'S. I will leave with this, the University has made a lot of it's population very upset, and this will probably lead to more commotion down the line. UAH has been and will continue to be a largely commuter-based school.

Out of town students would benefit from this.

A transit system is important if we aren't going to have the option to drive around campus due to limited parking. Someone with a disability that makes it difficult for them to walk and/or bike to class would greatly benefit from the availability of a transit system.

Students with classes on both sides of Holmes and/or Sparkman would REALLY benefit from this with regard to both speed and safety.

This would be great for everyone especially those who don't drive.

The zoned parking plan will simply not work without a transit system around campus. Without transit around campus the most convenient parking lots will fill up quickly and the same issues will arise as in previous years. Either more parking structures need to be built in prime locations, or this transit system needs to be implemented.

If we have zoned parking, many students will feel the inconvenience of having to walk to class especially in the rain or other weather situations. Having a bus system will be needed to get students around as best as possible. SGA Senator

All students are interested in parking because of how awful it is. It is definitely worse on some campuses but that is no excuse for how bad it is here. Stop building greenway and start building another parking garage!!!

Some more parking lots would be great. Heck, a parking deck built on previous lots would be great.
