Security measures really need to be implemented at The Lane. It's a security nightmare. I personally refuse to use it anymore as I've had very close horrific encounters there.

Safety and convenience are both important.
Maybe someone needs to use that space e.g. a car salesperson. They would post sercurity and indirectly benefit the pedestrians at no real long term cost to anyone. In fact they would purchase or rent the space from the city.
They should only have low fence where the bush now is, on their side.

I would like to see security camaras and a turnstile or permanent security guards set up as it is a highly trafficed and convenient walk way for everyone working or shopping at canal walk.

I wouldn’t like the lane closed or gated as it prevents accessibility to those who do need it and are not part of the problem. It costs a lot to take public transport all around Century City to get onto Koeberg road. But I would advise more security measures to guarantee safety for those who need to use it.

The lane needs to be either closed (ideally) or turnstiles installed because this access point is a week spot in Tijgerhof community

My son and his friend had their phones stolen at knifepoint in ratanga lane.another adult family member was harassed in the lane too.

Please close the lane in whatever way possible. I, a resident of Tygerhof, was almost mugged here and have since never used the lane.
