it would be great to see something different for Castro Valley than an old eye sore in the middle of the community. CV needs to let go of this old building and build something vibrant

Open space is always better than a parking garage. Town squares and parks keep our community beautiful and usable.

Raze the Daugherty building and replace with a town square and parking in the rear. This will have a HUGE impact on the attractiveness of the downtown for shoppers, while increasing the sense of community.

The old Daughtry's building has been uselessly languishing in the very center of our delightful little town. It is ugly. Its tax base is probabally at prop 13 levels, it may likely be seismically unsound, and it is currently(periodically) used for a silly enterprise. Castro Valley, as a town, needs to assert itself to gain a greater sense of community idendity, and working toward establishing a town square at this site is just the opportunity. Compared to so many similarly sized towns, Castro Valley has much to offer its citizens. I fully support the plan, just so long as it is subject to thorough input and oversight by the residents (one day "citizens") of Castro Valley.

We need this to bring the downtown project together and make it a place where people want to come for CV. If this doesn’t happen – we should look at incorporating our own town and get away from the MAC/Board of Supervisors deciding CV’s fate. People are scared about infrastructure, when they should be scared of a few people in CV and those who don’t even live here deciding our fate. CV tax dollars should stay in CV and we can then control our fate.
