At the age of 88 I can no longer walk very far. Whim I culd walk I would swagger down to the canton ,Texas ten squar and set on the benches next tour courthouse. This particular day was joined by a man ,even Oder than me. He turned toe and asked if I was a yankee? No I’m full blooded southern . I answered . He said in no uncertain terms if I knew who the father of our country was ?
Of course it’s George Washington I answered . He then moved back to,his end of the bench and proclaimed ,for everyone to hear “ ahaa ,just as I thought a yankee! Any damn fool knows it’s Sam Houston! “ I couldn’t argue with that logic. . He moved off with a huff and a grunt of disapproval.
I smiled to myself …maybe he was right!

Please provide an objective, professional, and accurate assessment of Dr. Buenger’s peformance. As Chief Historian, he has proven to be incapable of doing the same with Texas History, overtly expressing his biases to the denigration of balanced, holistic and accurate views of his subject matter.

Wouldn't it be nice to once again have history based on known facts, at least to the best of disciplined investigatory practices ability, and not turned into a social and political agenda perpetrated on young minds?

As a retired US Navy officer, I know the difference between a fairy tale and a sea story. This guy's BS qualifies as a sea story.

This should be addressed immediately. His current employment is a classic example of bureaucratic ineptitude managing an important Texas institution.

He is a typical activist who thinks he can change history to conform to his left-wing agenda.
