Time for Buenger to go. His bias and poor work ethic are an embarrassment to the State of Texas.

This man’s contract should not be renewed. His position should be filled a scholar who keep his personal racial opinions and bias out of his commentary. We need a real scholar with objective fact based knowledge of history, not a political activist grinding his axe.

Truth is the objective of this petition
Buenger has a responsibility to tell the truth and not put himself in the spotlight with made up rhetoric.
A fair performance appraisal will probably result in his termination. I won't lower myself to his level by name calling without justification but rather I ask you to do your job and review his activities against his position description.
Thank you
Richard Weitzel

Texan by birth..Texan when dead… True Texans demand truth… when it comes to our history our truth is our freedom. Our Texan forefathers were already woke at the Alamo.

When the Battle of San Jacinto was over, and Texas Revolution was won on the battlefield, those hardy pioneers (on the Runaway Scrape) who endured and sacrificed so much, returned home to their farms and settlements, burned and destroyed by Santa Anna’s campaign through Texas, and built a nation: The Republic of Texas and a legacy for future generations. The story of Texas and our ancestors deserve better.

Anyone paid with public money should be accountable to those people. A job performance review is not an unusual request of a public servant.

I do not support the perspective of ANY "historian" whose take on history is an agenda of pushing political objectives. Life in 1836 wasn't perfect and it's not today, but what took place then, and specifically at the Alamo was about a defense of the tyranny of a singular dictator who was a ruthless, narcissist of a little man...
Preach THAT, professor... or do you merely want a ONE-SIDED argument?

It is my opinion that this man has failed the University, the organization, and the entire State of Texas. I believe he should be removed from all related roles of leadership and employment.
