Maybe we can find someone who is actually proud of the truth of Texas History to serve as Chief Historian of TSHA.

It's time we get rid of woke, Anti-Texan and Anti-American ideologues. Buenger needs to go.

Dr. Buenger is the wrong person to be Chief Historian. He is a revisionist of the worst sort, with an agenda to tear down the story of Texas and paint it's founders and fighters as racists and monsters. Enough.

Pls find a replacement for Dr. Buenger. His views do NOT REPRESENT the vast majority of Texas historians, including myself.

Why is there a person who is apparently anti-history in the chair for the Chief Historian? I do not understand.

His comments as Chief Historian appear racist, uninformed, and with an over-emphasis on "equity"; trying to rewrite history. Based upon what I have seen and heard, a grade of F seems generous.

This man is a disgrace and should not be considered for any further employment in which teaching anything about Texas history and the history of the Alamo is involved, because he knows little to nothing about it.

As a born and raised Texan, I find the numerous public pronouncements of Dr. Walter Buenger, Chief Historian of the Texas State Historical Association, to be significantly biased and un-scholarly...particularly in regards to the Battle of the Alamo and its historical significance. His 5 year contract is almost half a year overdue for a performance review. I feel he should be replaced by a historian not determined to slant his or her opinions with an eye on social media and biased objectives.

I've been a member of the TSHA most of my life and I'm 81 years old. I'm an active local and grass root historian. Dr. Buenger is a disgrace to our organization and I would like to see him go.

We do not need someone, such as J.P. Bryan Jr., with a biased agenda and lack of knowledge of his subject, as chief historian for Texas.
