DO NOT not “fix” something that already works well. To do so is not only a huge waste of taxpayers’ money but also damaging - actually raping - an already fragile, endangered ecosystem. There is something nefarious about the motivation to do this. What is that motivation? Fire the town manager who is pushing this, replace that person, and deal with the motivation later.

As a Truro homeowner of 27 years, I would be greatly distressed if the leadership off our town failed to preserve its unique beauty and quality of life. If that means new leadership then so be it.

Let’s keep Truro’s rural nature. It’s unique on the Cape. 30 years ago the towns of the Upper Cape made small modifications to building codes and development guidelines to accommodate small property developments. Once an exception is made, real estate developers use it as precedent for further building. The small changes to local building regulations opened the door to further development so that 20 years later, there’s now been a flood real estate development resulting in fundamental change in the character of these areas as many commuters moved from Boston to the Cape. Real estate developers make their money with higher density development on land because the cost to build each apartment goes down the more apartments are built on a single development project. Therefore, they have an incentive to build as many apartments as regulations allow in order to maximize their profit.

I am a 25 year part-time resident of Truro and oppose the policies pushed by our present town manager. I think he should be replaced

it is unconscionable to me that a competent town manager would not want to interact or listen to the views and opinions of the town's residents. We are in a critical and divisive time, we all need to work together and hear each other. The town manager is the head of the town administration- this person sets the tone. If this person is contentious, relationships become so also. This town manager is not right for Truro. Please do not renew is contract.
