My friend has a potentially broken neck due to having to come to class today and falling down ice covered stairs.

This is ridiculous. The school’s lack of concern for the health and safety of its students is appalling.

One of my professors car went off the road and that’s the reason he cancelled class. The school should have been cancelled long before that. The salt trucks did not start until after 7:30. That is ridiculous.

I'm still expected to turn in a lab report for a lab I couldn't attend without risking a concussion. ATSU has cancelled classes due to the weather, as have many other schools in the area. Academics should not take priority over physical health.

I agree this is ridiculous. If the school does explicitly cancel classes most of the professors will still hold them. Some of my classes have a "you can't miss more than 2 days before the highest grade you can possibly get it a B" policy. Meaning if I miss class because I'm too scared of falling and breaking a bone, I could only miss one more class the entire semester. That's ridiculous.

How are students going to learn to prioritize their mental health above their academics when they go to a school which devalues their physical health?

I would have skipped my class today if I didn’t have a test. I showed up anyway and the professor walks in and says he’s cancelling class and we are not taking the test. Many students only had one class today and the only reason they showed up was for the test which was no longer being given. Absolutely ridiculous

My car literally did a donut in the parking lot this morning ( i mind you not on purpose) from just turning into the commuter parking lot. Not having emails sent to indicate a "snow day" is a terrible way to run a school. If the school doesn't cancel classes and the professors still have it but we're too afraid or just unable to drive on roads that are honestly like an ice rink our grade suffers just because we choose our safety over grades.
