Brilliant idea but sadly am not sure that this will help . Trip advisor should look after businesses not ruin them. What will they do when we are all closed?

Trip advisor are their own worst enemies. I found a woman posting negative reviews for establishments she had not used while giving 5 stars to one establishment - the one she worked for! There was no way of contacting TA about this and as a result I no longer give any credence to any review on TA.

I do completely agree, it's a shame their validation process is shit and totally irrelevant!

Trip advisor does not check any facts a business that is only a year old can have more reviews than a buisness that has been there for 30 years. That other buisness is only open during the summer weekends and not year round. Doesn't make sense.

TA is completely crap and many guests are talking advantage of it. TA agents don't listen to hotel management and just do not have proper threat policy which is a big issue as many of the guests are threatening to put the bad review if we don't provide the refund.

This website is pointless as there are so many negative people out there who look for faults also when you deal with the issue inhouse and the customer says they are happy with the outcome why then slate the place or persons who have tried to rectify the issue. Unfortunately things do go wrong from time to time it's not intentional and this website breeds negativity.

I have had some nasty untrue reviews posted on TA by people who never ever stayed at our hotel, TA refuse to take these down!

Varios hotelero y empleados de hoteles me han solicitado poner buenos comentarios sobre sus hoteles con el fin de tener mejor ranking de sus hoteles en cada destino, y los empleado beneficiarse de incremento en el bonus anual por que el hotel tenga excelentes comentarios. Obviamente nunca lo hice, esto refleja de nuevo que TripAdvisor no es una herramienta útil para nadie. De pronto si se exige al menos una factura del hospedaje que aparezca fechas, quizás sería un poco más fiable.

TripAdvisor permirte comentarios negativos de personas que nunca se han alojado, aún cuando le demuestras pruebas no retiran el comentario, solo puedes beneficiarte si perteneces al perfil PLUS por el que te cobran miles de dólares.

Defiendo el mal uso como herramienta de chantage de tripadvisor.

Soy propietario de un hotel y se han publicado opiniones falsas sobre el mismo de gente que ni siquiera conocía las instalaciones. Al realizar el reclamo a TripAdvisor me dijeron que no podían censurar las opiniones de la pagina pese a que estas eran falsas y la persona que opinaba no había demostrado en ningún momento alguna prueba fehaciente de haber estado alojado en el hotel. A diferencia de paginas como Booking, Expedia o Despegar que las personas que opinan realmente utilizaron el servicio.

I'm signing as here also in Abu Dhabi. An ex chef in Sofitel Abu Dhabi shared to me and my colleagues that the higher management announced that whoever will post a good review about the hotel will get AED 50. Also you will notice in some restaurants, they are in top 10 but all the reviewers have 1 review each. They should count and validate at least 5 reviews or even more to accept and filter for ranking.

I have been in the restaurant business for 40years. In the last 3 this website has caused much grief to me personnally and those around me. I have had guest try to extort refunds with the threat of a bad review. I have had staff break down because of a bad review, I have had owners warn staff because of a bad review. the constant critisism and threat of this site is very demanding on those in a difficult industry. We welcome constructive critisism but some of it is unfounded and down right nasty. I have reported extortion attempts to Tripadvisor previously and they are ignored. We need to join together and thank the millions of hospitality workers across the world that try their best to give us exceptional satisfaction and not allow a minority of nasty cowards to hide behind anonymity with their attempts for a free room or meal. I will help any way I can to expose the damage this site does. Its would be an easy fix if they sought to verify any negative complaint and give the business owner a right of reply before posting. For 4 or more years TripAdvisor has posted about 14 false reviews about my business. I do group hunts on the ranch and we have been in this business or over 30 years. I want to be removed from TripAdvisor because of the false Reviews

Many of my clients posted positive reviews on trip advisor, but they do not post them, if they post any negative review, they post straight away without any validation. why can't you validate the client first and then post. in this way, you are taking the wrong advantage of freedom of expression. when we reaised the voice to request to remove false negative reviews, they demanded incredible amount of money per review about £100. It has to be stopped as they made it a source of income.

I'm an owner of a small motel - I know for a fact, when TripAdvisor allows bogus reviews. I have repeatedly challenged them - all Trip Adfvisro does is LIE, LIE, LIE - and know if someone trys to book a room via their site - THEY LIE EVEN MORE!!! Because I refuse to pay them - they post that i have no rooms available. No matter what date you put in. Very dishonest - and their companion company booking buddy does the same.

Tripadvisor publishes fake, false, and damaging stories about my restaurant from people who never ate at my establishment either because they cite times and dates that we were closed for several months prior to the bad review or open several months after the bad review. Too many fake stories about food served thats not on the menu and never has been on the menu. Tripadvisor should be sued

Trip Advisor has advertised together with booking.com that we Pelion Country Villas-Theodorides Estate were SOLD OUT encouraging guests with the price finder they added on every listing page to look elsewhere for accommodation. Unreal that they do not vet reviews, but do responses by owners and managers of businesses, so wrong they reviewers are not required to leave details of whom they are, how can this be fair?

Tripadvisor allows a customer to say what they want without checking anything. But they don't allow you to answer with facts. A customer can talk bad, but the owner can't do a damn thing! Get rid of tripadvisor!

I booked a villa in March paying a hefty deposit. This is the first time I have used this method & thought this was a reputable company. Unfortunately I was rushed to hospital with heart problems and required surgery around the time the balance as due. I emailed the villa owner directly as the hospital was 100 miles from where I lived and she said '....don't worry.....just pay when you can'. We has booked and paid for our flights to Malaga and I told her this so she knew we were committed and definitely coming. I have copies of all emails to and from. I ended up in hospital longer than was expected, but as soon as I got home I went to pay the balance. This is where the nightmare started. I discovered that Trip Advisor had cancelled the booking. I contacted the villa owner who told me she had re-let the villa. I sent her a begging email but she refused to honour the booking. I asked Trip Advisor to refund my deposit giving them the full facts and copy emails. Even though they have advised me today that they hold my deposit and that it is not paid to the villa owner, they will not give it back to me. So, no holiday, no refund, no help from Trip Advisor and I have yet to tell my son. At my wits end. BEWARE USING TRIP ADVISOR EVEN WITH EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES THEY DON'T WANT TO KNOW.

Cualquier persona puede abrir una cuenta en tripadvisor, en cualquier parte del mundo y opinar sobre cualquier establecimiento, de cualquier parte del mundo.

No se puede permitir ni avalar que las opiniones vertidas no se verifiquen si son ciertas o no, y muchísimo menos que se emitan anónimamente. Tripadvisor debería comprobar que el servicio comentado ha sido consumido realmente y exigir pruebas, mediante factura del servicio que se trate: estancia de hotel, comida/cena, etc... Se puede hacer perjudicar enormemente, no sólo a nivel empresarial; sinó también a nivel personal y profesional, porque hay energúmenos que arrementen contra empleados también, injusta y falsamente. El hecho de que Tripadvisor se respalde en el hecho de que se puede contestar a los comentarios / críticas no es suficiente. Deben regular determinadas actitudes como es el hecho de citar personas concretas y puede llegar a perjudicar laboralmente y psicológicamente, como ha sucedido en algunos casos, además de vulnerar el derecho a la intimidad/anonimato y honorabilidad; teniendo en cuenta que existe una Ley de Protección de Datos, que debería imperar.

Anyone angry for any reason against any company can make up any lie to hurt the reputation of a company. This is just plain wrong!!

Very faceless platform

My business has had plenty of negative reviews posted - I did not sign up to be on this site, I do not want to be on this site, we serve thousands of happy people every day, trip advisor only posts the negative reviews.

You "MUST" be honest if your a "REAL GENUINE REVIEWER"

We have people post bad reviews about our business all the time, yet they still come in to our establishment week after week.
