I had this when I was 8 - 12 years of age. I got my relief in 1976 by having surgery to cut the nerve. It has been almost 38 years and I live without feeling in my face but it was a small price to pay for the pain to stop.

My daughter was ravaged for years by the pain and social and medical stigma of TNN. On Dec11, 2012, she succumbed to prescription medicine poisoning , the result of over prescribed drugs and a complete lack of awareness by the medical staffs who had treated her at various ER's through the months preceding her death. The world needs to know about TNN, now.

I suffer from this condition on and off, it is very real and can be totally dibilitating if not treated by medication and knowledge.

I,ve had TN since 2005. I'm 65, and i've been on medication for 6 yrs. Still have bouts of stabbing pains and have diffecult days not being able to wash my face, shave, blow my nose, brush teeth, spit, talking and eating. I have trouble dressing up, walking,and sometime just wind hitting my face i start to have pains. Also have bouts of memory lose confusion in making decisions and other side effects from meds i'm on. Meds are losing there effect...i am depressed.....
