I had a stroke in 1999 at age 42 and as a result of this I have TN. I was finally diagnosed with TN in 2013!!! I kept telling and explaining my symptoms to the Dr.'s for YEARS!! They would look at me like I was crazy. One Dr. told me well I guess you are going to have to learn to live with this pain as I have never heard anyone having thi as a result of a stroke! I never had this pain until after the stroke! Clue # one!! The pain was so intense in Feb. 2013 while I was in Florida and went to the emergency room. I spent 10 days in the hospital and finally a brilliant nueoroligist knew what I had been suffering with for 14 years! TN!! We are still experimenting with medicine but have found some relief. Unfortunatly as we all know the "monsters presence is always there in some form or degree!

SORRY I DID NOT COMPLETE IT....I WAS NEARLY DONE ANYWAY. I AM JUST HOPING THAT MAYBE SOME MAY NO HOW TO FIGHT THE MEDICAL INSURANCE TO COVER THIS OR IF THERE ARE ANY RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO THOSE SUFFERING WITH A DIFFICULT CASE AND NEED HELP BECAUSE THEIR HOPE IS FADING FAST. IF WE DON'T HAVE SOMETHING OUT THERE YET THEN WE SHOULD CERTAINLY FIND A WAY TO START A CHARITY TO HELP THOSE IN NEED SO THAT WE HAVE LESS DEATHS OF WONDERFUL PEOPLE THAT HAPPEN TO HAVE THIS TERRIBLE CONDITION UNDER THE WORST CIRCUMSTANCES POSSIBLE.

Just found this site & as a fellow facial pain sufferer since 2004. I am hopeful that through this site and spreading awareness that a cure can be found preventing anyone from ever having to suffer this painful, debilitating disease!!!

Please, get the word out there. I have bilateral TN. I have been in pain 24/7 for 2 years. I am on Dr. #8 because it is so rare. Praying for an answer ;)

TN causes me dibilitating pain every day. A medication my doctor prescribed caused Stevens-Johnson syndrome and could have killed me. We need a cure.

We are expected to just get on with our lives with such a debilitating illness. It's almost impossible but there is no choice, we learn to get through and somehow learn to get on too. What else can we do?
