I was diagnosed with TN in 2011 after suffering for two years! Through prayers answered for a wonderful medical team, I have been pain free for two years :)

I have TN from a tooth extraction in Aug. 2012. Living is a nightmare!!!! This condition must be recognized by WHO. Gamma Knife Surgery has only made it worse!

Our is listed as one of the Worlds most acute illnesses, and, yet, there is very little research done to help ease the suffering. Why? It is rare, and, therefore not profitable to drug companies to create a cure specific to the condition.

I have suffered withTN for almost 20 years. Had Microvascular Decompression surgery but lots of side effects. I also have it on the other side which I hear is very rare. Take Tegretol every day! Very depressed.

I have had atypical trigeminal neuralgia from the age of 8, I am now 66. It was mistakenly diagnosed as migraine!

I have had ATN since June 28th, 2011 6:30-7:00PM. How do I remember this so specifically, it is when I went to Hell, literally. I was at work and the pain hit so suddenly and sharply that I couldn't function. I left work and sat in my car holding my head for a long time. I decided to drive home, I only lived 4 blocks away. Bad idea!! I nearly hit a car head-on! After that I went to several doctors to find relief. I had to have my wife drive me every where because I couldn't function driving (the motion, light, jarring, noise, etc all caused me a ton of pain). The medications I was given at times had serious side effects which caused me to spend time in the hospital recovering. I had finally received some relief in April 2013 when I received a neurostimulator from the U of Iowa. Please help us get rid of this disease and spread awareness of this. Thanks!
