Been in line clearance for 12 yrs, and I’m tired of the lack of respect and acknowledgement of the dangers and skill it takes to do our job. The power companies have taken advantage far too long.

I've worked line clearance in West Virginia and have done some serious dangerous stuff , have days where I didn't no if I was gonna make it home or not. But I always do using the skills and knowledge I've been taught, learning what ropes can handle what by pound test, using geometry to make sure roping off limbs make them turn and catch on the rope ,and not hit the line despite overhanging the line , which is on the hole time we work, we deserve more pay and should be considered skilled labor, without the proper training and time put into this business you'll end up dead and seriously hurt, even with proper training guys still get hurt and killed on a regular basis.
