My name is Jeffrey M. LeStyne and I am the official Grand Prize Winner for the NFL and New Era's "Back to Football Photo Day 2013", representing for The New York Giants. One grand prize winner was picked for each NFL team, totaling up to 32 winners. The grand prize included and trip to NYC, a meet and greet with the NFL commissioner, a tour of the city, a tour of NFL headquarters, and a photo/video shoot for their ad campaigns. All of this happened around June 10th. As it turns out now, many of winners were contacted about becoming the Fan Ambassador for their team. I was not contacted about this amazing opportunity. Some employees at the NFL decided that I could not "fully participate" in Back to Football Photo Day because I have a felony conviction. I committed a felony 9 years ago and served a total of three years in the justice system. I explained to them that I thought it was unfair for them to disqualify me based on my past and they agreed to let me participate in the photo shoot only because they felt bad. I am the grand prize winner and feel like a grand loser because I have been excluded from everything the grand prize winners received EXCEPT for the photo shoot. It's also been impossible to get a response from anyone at the NFL either. This petition is to tell the NFL that a winner is a winner and should not be treated any different because of his or her past mistakes. When I signed up for the contest it did not specify that you should not enter if you have a felony. The paperwork I filled out did not specify anything either. To prevent anyone who worked hard and changed their life from being treated how I am being treated, I humbly ask that you sign this petition.
