We have been told of a family that has come to the island from France to their other home for a holiday . How are they allowed to do this ????? . plus another man from the EU comes over each week / month to check on how the work in his garden is coming on .

Only key workers should be travelling on ferries and goods

I think the island is lagging behind the mainland with its rate of infections. we need to do whatever we can to keep the numbers down coming here.

It will be difficult to conduct a trial with people movements from the mainland.

I'm an Islander born and raised who now lives on the mainland and I fully support this, it would be utterly ridiculous to allow people to go to the island during this pandemic.

This should have been done from the start of the pandemic. We should not have to campaign for it.

If we're going to best his virus, we need to do as we're told and stay home and keep the NHS safe.

Movement must be restricted if the app monitoring is to work. Urgent supplies can be sourced using charter company boats who’s industry is crashing during the virus shutdown

We have many vulnerable people here and only one hospital. We already have more patients than we can cope with. Like many, I have been indoors for over 6 weeks. How fair would it be for anyone to come over here and undo all the good work that is being done to eliminate this virus? Please only come over if you are delivering food and refreshments , medicines or you are stuck and need to get home from the mainland. If you need to come home, you need to stay indoors like us and not spreading the virus. Also, more people need to be wearing a mask (homemade or bought) when going into shops or any enclosed places. Disposing of them is very important too. Need more training on this. Try to explain to the children in your own way why it is important to stay home and wash hands well. We will find a way to get our feet back on the ground when all this is over. In the meantime, put lives before money and keep eachother alive. Thank you to all the NHS Heroes and people who are serving the public in so many ways. Brave and courageous. Thank you to the carers who are living in with the elderly people to avoid further risks. A lot of sacrifice going on here. Holidays on the Isle of Wight are impossible at the moment. So, please wait until this is all over and we have a vacine. Then we can all enjoy a holiday. Especially the NHS and all the carers of this world.
