You must have read from the Newspapers that the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) is going to auction all the lamps and vessels of the temples under their area of operations, for generating funds to maintain the temples. What a crime? Would they dare to do this to churches and mosques? The Sabarimala and Guruvayur temples generate crores of rupees and there are many other temples like Chottanikkara, Kadampuzha and Kodungallur etc. which also generate plenty of money. If they can take that money for other purposes, can they not utilize it for maintaining devaswom board temples of TDB? This has to be questioned and stopped.
I am told that there is scope for moving to court and get it stopped. I have also spoken to legal authorities and they have given me a lot of confidence that this can be stopped. I was told that if a few devotees can file an appeal, that should be enough. I write this letter to ask you if you would like to be one of the signatories. I do not intend collecting money from anybody but shall spend it from my own pocket. What I need is your participation. Kindly let me know by Monday, the 25th May whether you would be prepared to join hands with me.

ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളുടെ പരിപാലനത്തിനായി ഫണ്ട് സ്വരൂപിക്കുന്നതിനായി തിരുവിതാംകൂർ ദേവസ്വം ബോർഡ് (ടി ഡിബി) അവരുടെ പ്രവർത്തന മേഖലയ്ക്ക് കീഴിലുള്ള ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളുടെ എല്ലാ വിളക്കുകളും പാത്രങ്ങളും ലേലം ചെയ്യാൻ പോകുന്നുവെന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ പത്രങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് വായിച്ചിരിക്കുമല്ലോ. എന്ത് കുറ്റമാണിത്? ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ ആരാധനാലയങ്ങളോടും മുസ്ലിം പള്ളികളോടും ഇത് ചെയ്യാൻ അവർ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുമോ? ശബരിമല, ഗുരുവായൂർ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ കോടിക്കണക്കിന് രൂപ വരുമാനമുണ്ട്. ചോറ്റാനിക്കര, കാടാമ്പുഴ, കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂർ തുടങ്ങി നിരവധി ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ധാരാളം പണം വരുമാനമുണ്ട്. അവർക്ക് ആ പണം മറ്റ് ആവശ്യങ്ങൾക്കായി എടുക്കാൻ കഴിയുമെങ്കിൽ, ടിഡി ബിയുടെ ദേവസ്വം ബോർഡ് ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ പരിപാലിക്കാൻ അവർക്ക് ഇത് ഉപയോഗിക്കാൻ കഴിയില്ലേ? ഇത് ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യുകയും അവസാനിപ്പിക്കുകയും വേണം.

കോടതിയിലേക്ക് പോകാനും ഇതു നിർത്തിവെപ്പിക്കുവാനും കഴിയുമെന്നും എന്നോട് പറഞ്ഞു. ഞാൻ നിയമ വിദഗ്ധരുമായി സംസാരിക്കുകയും, ഇത് നിർത്താൻ കഴിയുമെന്ന് അവർ എനിക്ക് വളരെയധികം ആത്മവിശ്വാസം നൽകുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. കുറച്ച് ഭക്തർ ഒരുമിച്ചു ചേർന്ന് അപ്പീൽ സമർപ്പിക്കാൻ കഴിയുമെങ്കിൽ അത് മതിയെന്ന് എന്നോട് പറഞ്ഞു. ഈ അപ്പീൽ ഒപ്പിടുന്നവരിൽ ഒരാളാകാൻ നിങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നുണ്ടോ എന്ന് ചോദിക്കാനാണ് ഞാൻ ഈ കത്ത് എഴുതുന്നത്. ഞാൻ ആരിൽ നിന്നും പണം ശേഖരിക്കാൻ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നില്ല, പക്ഷേ അത് എന്റെ പോക്കറ്റിൽ നിന്ന് ചെലവഴിക്കാനാണ് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നത്. എനിക്ക് വേണ്ടത് നിങ്ങളുടെ പങ്കാളിത്തമാണ്. എന്നോട് കൈകോർക്കാൻ നിങ്ങൾ തയ്യാറാണോ എന്ന് മെയ് 25 തിങ്കളാഴ്ചയോടെ ദയവായി എന്നെ അറിയിക്കുമല്ലോ.
