Transfiguration Academy has been my home for the past six years and I have recently graduated. I am indebted to the school for all it has done for me and my growth and an individual. I love Transfiguration Academy and I cannot bear to see it close.

Please do not close Transfiguration Academy. Allow conversations to take place between parents and the school administration to develop a plan. Closing so abruptly will severely impact the students. Thank you for your consideration.

TA is “small school that could”. From the time it opened 14 yrs ago until now, TA’s graduates have been accepted to the best high schools, private or otherwise. We were awarded Blue Ribbon some two yrs back. Teachers are accommodating, and I feel like they have a handle of each student, knowing their strengths and weaknesses. My son does not feel like he is just another face, another last name, another number. I shudder to think I am forced to move to a school system where it has a lot of students and students are invisible.

When my son's first Catholic elementary school closed, I researched other Catholic schools in the area and chose Transfiguration Academy because of their excellent academics, but for one other reason as well. There were 2 schools in the area that I felt had great academics, but Transfiguration was the more diverse. It was the diversity and wanting my child exposed to as many different people as was possible, combined with Transfiguration's superior academics that led me to choose this school.
I find it shameful that a school that does more good and brings more people together while laying a strong faith and academic foundation would be closed just one month prior to schools re-opening. Leaving families to scramble to find a new school in the midst of an already devastating time is abhorrent. While perception may not be reality, it is a strong force and the perception is that the archdiocese made this decision based solely on monetary reasons and with complete disregard for the families the Church serves.
The families of this incredible school community should be given proper time to prepare. I implore the Archdiocese of Newark to keep Transfiguration Academy open for, at the bare minimum, one more year.

This is a beloved school and it’s very unfair to make this decision and leave parent to scramble to find another school at the last minute. Its wrong and not done in the name of the Lord.

As an alumna of the first graduating class of Transfiguration Academy, it gives me a heavy heart to hear of the closing. As a PhD candidate within a growing field and a prestigious university, I owe my competence and achievements to the educators or my Catholic school education. If not for their efforts, guiding morales, and willingness to invest in my future, I would be far less successful.
Additionally, as a practicing Catholic, I implore those decision makers to look within their guiding principles and identify a more Christian solution. Catholic education should be for all who desire to be on the path with Christ and it is our duty to identify means to achieve this feat.

Transfiguration Academy has been part of my family for the past 20 years. TA is our family. My husband taught in the school for 15 years and he would of continue teaching, if he was still on this earth. My son graduated from this fine institution. This was supposed to be my daughter’s last year at Transfiguration Academy. I am stunned and heart broken. The faculty and clergy deserve better than this. Thank you

We have 2 generations that attended this school. It is unthinkable that it will no longer exist. In addition, making this announcement less than a month before scheduled to open is reckless. Our public schools have already made re-opening plans. You are disregarding the welfare of the students that have been your best resource for years. Please reconsider this decision.
