Keep Transfiguration Academy Open

The Catholic Church is very wealthy. I find it hard to believe that this school couldn’t have been kept open one more year at least. If you want to push people away from the religion then keep it closed. Why should they be faithful and loyal to a church that’s not faithful and loyal to them. The children are the future. Help them with their religious future by keeping Transfiguration Academy open. Thank you.

This school fosters a gargantuan community so it’s shocking to see the Archdiocese give it only 26 days warning of its complete closure with zero open discussion.

The pandemic is already hard on our towns. TA students, staff and parents need stability this particular year. The church, the archdiocese and God will find a way to help.

In honor of my teachers who still teach there and the ones I’ve had over the years.

Why take away Catholic school in the low/middle income areas. Those are the areas that need the schools the most.

Please keep Transfiguration Academy open.

How could you close a school less than a month before classes were to start? You owe it to families that sacrifice financially in order to pay catholic school tuition, in addition to the teachers who will be unable to find a job in three weeks. Instead, you’re forcing them to scramble to find a place to land, in an already stressful time due to the global pandemic. Moves like this are a public relations nightmare, at a time when the Archdiocese of Newark doesn’t have the best reputation to begin with. I will always look back fondly on my catholic school elementary and high school years of education. Let these kids have one more year, in order to set themselves up properly for the next step in their education.

Please keep this school open,

during these unprecedented times famines need the security of knowing their children will have some sense of normalcy, if not in person education areas remotely with the teachers they know. Closing a school with less than a month to plan is irresponsible.

A beautiful school with a loving staff- please don't close this gem!

This is a Blue Ribbon School with good enrollment. Th over flow will also burden the public schools that are already at full capacity.

We often hear how concerning it is that people don’t attend Mass, that they fall away from the Church. There is handwringing and brainstorming, committees and research, trying to find the trick to get them back. Many, many hours and dollars are spent on discussions, polls, gatherings, and programs for adults in an attempt to draw them back. Every year a handful show up and a small number of that handful stick around. Who knows if the children in the lives of those few adults ever truly hear the Gospel or persevere in it, leaving us back where we started. The main concentration should be on solid, faithful Catholic education of children. Bring the children up in the faith and they will bring the adults with them, through prayer, holy vocations, daily witness, evangelization, loving actions and service. Put the time and money into the schools. Through them you reach many, many more children and adults than any parish program. Let’s put our time and money into solid, faithful Catholic education. In addition, this is a matter of justice. Children deserve better than what is being offered in the failed public school system, run by politicians and corrupt unions. If we worked with parishioners, we could help many children, especially the underprivileged, who are stuck in agenda-driven, badly performing public schools and get them the education they feed and deserve.

Please give us an opportunity for the school to remain open for at least the school year 20-21. The school is our second home that supports the Christian, Catholic education that is most important to us. The current global pandemic situation has already put almost unbearable distress on families and the children. We have not been given enough time notice to look for alternatives, not to mention the terrible burden on the teachers that are left without a job 3 weeks from school opening time. Please reconsider this decision. I’m sure if we All work together, we can figure out a solution to keep our dear beloved school open. Thank you!

We are parishioners who VERY much looked Forward to sending their child to start their catholic education here. We are beyond shocked and feel robbed. We want to be part of the transfiguration academy family.

transfiguration academy is the home of my 4 daughters... the teachers and all the staff has been their second family for this past 8 years... closing the school at this most difficult time is making the situation worst for all the transfiguration families especially the students and the teachers.... pls re consider to re open the school....

Transfiguration Academy has been educating and spreading God's message for nearly 100 years � At a time when our country and our community needs love, kindness, and peace NOW more than ever losing this beacon of hope would only be a detrimental to our society. My children have grown to love our home away from home it is a safe haven of respect and positive values when the world around them is nothing but negativity.

Please find a way to Keep Transformation Academy open. This town needs that school.

Please reconsider your decision. Let us work something out. Let’s merge some schools you’re closing. Let’s have a dialogue you owe us that. We are from a modest families who worked hard to send our children to catholic school. You are failing us badly.

This sudden decision is unreasonable at this time when everyone is struggling with Covid-19.
