Hopefully the traffic light will include a walk/don't walk box with countdown timer and pedestrian push switch; the NYS yield to pedestrians in crosswalk law is often ignored.

I am the Rabbi at the Young Israel of Great Neck for the past forty three years and time after time I have witnessed treacherous situations when members attempt to cross MNR and there is no traffic light. There have been many close calls. Even the pedestrian walk recently installed is not so effective because many drivers don't even notice it.
Only a red light catches their attention.
It is high time this dangerous situation is addressed and eliminated.
Please do your best to help protect many people and maintain proper safety standards in our very special Great Neck community.

This intersection has gotten more dangerous over the years, not just for pedestrians but also for vehicles approaching Middle Neck Road from Clover Drive. A traffic light is needed.
