Although no longer a Grear Neck resident, I grew up in the area. I completely agree that there is a need for this traffic light.

I go to Great Neck to see my friend who lives on this stretch of Middle Neck Road. We go out to eat at Chosen Village, the kosher Chinese restaurant. If you park you have to be extremely careful getting out of your car as the traffic lane is right next to the parking lane with no space in between. Once I opened the door and a car nearly hit me. It came out of nowhere. Please install a traffic light there. It will slow down the cars.

I live in Tuscany court, I have tried to get across middle neck road countless times, not only have to wait for a long time but also I have to always run across when cars from both directions are coming at me. It is extremely dangerous especially for parents with young children and elderly people, they can't run that fast to get across. I once have seen a grandfather took three grandchildren trying to get across the street, it was impossible for him to hold three kids’ hands. Traffic lights are really necessary for the safety of the neighborhood!

There is a crosswalk at this intersection which EVERYONE ignores. It is very dangerous to cross this street.
