Traffic Safety corrections needed on RT 9W in Palisades, NY

Agree strongly! Also, Route 9W/Old Mountain Road/South Broadway intersection in Upper Grandview is Ridiculously Dangerous. This intersection demands a traffic light or closure of the South Broadway/9W merge...Many accidents and injuries have occurred here!

I live in Piermont and take the bus through here every day. I'm hoping major improvements can happen to allow everyone, cyclists included, can travel through here safely.

Years ago I was in an accident at intersection of rt. 9W and Oak Tree, when a motorist went through the red light. My collar bone was broken, necessitating surgery, and my car was totaled. Glad it wasn't even worse, but I was out of commission for months.

Please take these suggestions seriously! I feel lie I am puttin gmy life and the lives of my passengers, who are usually my children, at risk every time I drive through this intersection. I have had people cross the double yellow line to go around me to make illegal right turns on red lights. Its a near accident after near accident every time someone needs to make a left turn at high traffic times. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that auto and bicycle traffic volume has increased over the 10 years I have lived here and this intersection needs to be updated! One child has already lost their life there. Let's not see another tragedy.

I live at this intersection and am often a first time respondant to accidents during the weekends. I have watches people die, break limbs and more..... Please amend the horrible dangerous intersection. There are so many things in life that one can't control but not in this case. Please take action to protect citizens who live in or enjoy palisades and or move through this interesection ! By the way I still see Jordan baretto eyes close for the last time and can never erase that tragic event from my memory

We witnessed a car rolled over just a week ago at night - while attending to the injured driver, my husband and another driver stood at road edge to slow down cars approaching the bend on 9W in order to avoid a car pile up - this road is so dangerous

I am deeply concerned about cyclist not following the trafic rules as well.

I agree, it can be tricky crossing on foot especially. Thank you for the initiative.

Please help us avoid more problems. It's a deadly intersection.

Speed limit should be 35 MPH, as on 9W coming from Alpine, not 45 MPH in a residential area.

urgent issue.. this all is a bad accident just waiting to happen. speeding cars, bicycles, families walking in the road....

Your spot is between Piermont and Nyack where there's no side, and cars have to cross the double yellow line in order to avoid the bicycles. They should NOT be allowed on this portion especially.
