Traffic Lights in Front of Wilkinson Junior Public School

I am a parent with a kindergartener attending Wilkinson in the fall and I would like to see a safer setup at that intersection.

Long needed as one day there will be a serious injury thanks to the countless drivers who do not slow for crossing guards.

I agree with the installation of traffic lights. I have even witnessed a police officer who was working at the crosswalk almost get hit by a driver when the crosswalk lights were flashing. Drivers speed up and down Donlands on a regular basis. Milverton Blvd

I strongly feel that a light is absolutely necessary for the students to cross here. This school starts from Junior Kindergarten and is located on a major busy street. While some drivers are careful, a lot speed through. It would be very hard to spot young children crossing here. There is also a daycare across from the school.

Now have moved out of neighborhood, but used to live at 7 Strathmore and my daughter went to JK at Wilki

I am so concerned about the safety of my children crossing this busy intersection. Please protect our children!

A good cause.

This makes total sense. This is a high volume area when it comes to vehicles and families crossing to get to and from school. Every precaution must be taken to ensure everyone's safety. Student's are taught street safety at Wilkinson and often students will have stories of people in vehicles that almost hit them or someone they know. This should not be happening! I applaud the parents for starting this petition and I am in total agreement with making our streets and community safer for everyone. Thanks, Mr. Kasaval.

Cars race through and past that cross-walk. At an accident will happen if a light doesn't go in. Additionally the subway station at Donlands makes that section of road too chaotic for all the kids going through this area.

Crossing in front of Wilkinson is extremely dangerous. People race down the street and very often will ignore the flashing lights of the crossing. There have been far too many close calls and a signaled intersection would do a lot to help that crossing be safer
