My son goes to yhe coppice he is 5yrs old.The cars drive past or speed off after being stopped by the Lolipop lady without thinking in my view.They know that it is the school run and should be considerate.If they run late or dont like waiting take the alternative route.Always remember would you want your loved one to be the one that gets hurt or killed.Is

Walking to school along Shawhurst Lane has become dangerous. Every morning I see cars mounting the kerb and driving at speed along the pathway on Shawhurst road near the entrance to 'Coppice Gardens. I have witnessed first hand the severity of this situation. We must ensure that measures are taken now before a severe incident occurs it is just a matter of time! It is unacceptable to continue putting our children and other pedestrians at risk!!!

My son has nearly been knocked over several times by cars driving along the pavement. On one occasion a car missed him by centimetres. We can't cross Shawhurst lane via the lollipop lady because parking and driving on May lane makes it too dangerous to cross. Please don't let one of our children get killed before this is addressed.

Our childrens lives are worth more than a few thousand pounds for some form safety precaution (& the inconvenience to parents/local residents)

A traffic warden would be a good start and extension of the double yellow lines along the whole length of Shawhurst on both sides of the road. I agree with a previous comment about the issue being largely due to inconsiderate drivers, especially at school drop off and pick up. It will only get worse with the extension of the school.

Fully support this petition. The safety of my children and all children if the school are paramount. The safety/speed restriction on Shawhurst Road are woeful and have long been ignored.

Can't believe the speed of some cars going down Shawhurst Lane especially at the junction of May Lane. Also, some people still even with the single yellow line are parking whilst waiting for their kids to come out of school. Some sort of traffic calming needs to be done!

Something definitely needs to be done & to say that a fatality has to happen before measures can be looked at is disgraceful. People also need to look at themselves & stop being so lazy as I know for a fact their are people who live around my area that drive their kids to school (both coppice & Woodrush). I live a 5 minute walk from Coppice
