I walk this route every day with my young children, it is so dangerous with speeding cars and blind corner with no pavement

Hope this is addressed asap as it exposes children going to and from nearby schools to the risk of being run over by traffic laws offenders.

I support the proposal for traffic calming as I use the road to visit family.

Please please can highways or the council do something before someone is killed or badly injured!

Seen a few near misses myself, it’s an accident waiting to happen. Something needs to be done before someone gets hurt or worse…

I fully support this petition, the road is very dangerous for all residents, especially the elderly and young children.

Although it has to be said Woking -like a growing number of councils- are broke. With regards to action, action generally happens after events I.e reactively and sadly not preventive. Our road in Farnham took a teenager to be hit by a car and receive a traumatic brain injury. Even now Surrey county council have done sweet FA to calm speeds. We do have a police speed camera can turn up every now and then which has helped a little . I wish you all good luck and hope something is done before Someone is hurt.

I’ve had many close shaves here both on foot as a pedestrian and whilst in my car. The problem has gotten significantly worse post lockdown

The potential for a catastrophe should not be under-estimated in my opinion. Average (est.) speeds of 40mph passing within 2ft of concealed driveways, on a 20ft wide one-way track with no pavements, 200+ cars, pedestrians climbing banks and ditches, the sound of locking brakes and tyre squeal…and that was just today. Throw a few dozen kids into the mix as they return to school and you have the perfect storm. I echo the sentiments from Jane and urge that we please don’t find ourselves collectively reflecting on why more wasn’t done. Thank you

After visiting someone on Wych Hill Rise yesterday I encountered someone giving way to me so they could go up the wrong way. After informing them it was a no entry sign they ignored me and continued driving up the wrong way. Something definitely needs to happen before someone is hurt.

As a resident I have several near misses where car speed down the hill and have nearly hit me head on coming the other way under the bridge. It’s also dangerous if you are having to pass pedestrians walking under the bridge and you have to go on the other side of the road to pass them. As a pedestrian walking under the bridge with my two small children you are constantly having to look over your shoulder for a speeding car coming down the hill and it is quite scary!!

As a resident I completely support the need for action. Walking is becoming very dangerous.
