Provide a Security Resource Officer for Twin Peaks Charter Academy

Please provide a Security Resource Officer to TPCA our children need to be protected and need the security of knowing they are safe and being protected from the threats that we face as a community through out this day and age.

It is very sad that this has to be a priority for us, but with the number and frequency of school shootings I would feel better having a trained officer there at the school. I feel it would be a deterant for anyone thinking to come to the school to commit a violent act.

It is time for Twin Peaks Charter to have and SRO resource at our K-12 school

An additional officer is much needed, protect our families!

The safety of our students should be a top priority.

Safety and security should be a number 1 priority, please vote to make this happen!

A necessity

I went to Twin Peaks for elementary and middle school . Then went to Skyline for my first three years of high school and it was great to have a resource officer. He always was there and welcomed kids into his office and just was another helping hand that made us feel safe and was always there. Then I transferred back to Twin Peaks my senior year and I felt safe but it would be nice to have someone there during school hours so kids aren't wondering the halls or to have someone there at the sporting events to help patrol or walk people to their cars etc..

I teach at a middle school in Thornton and we have appreciated the officers that come from the Thornton police department. I have watched for 20 years the positive relationships the officers build with the students, their parents and the staff members. Students develop a trust in the officers that carry over to their lives outside of school.

Safety in schools is important. Having a SRO takes the burden off the staff and gives parents and students an increased sense of security.

I think it would be wise to have an armed person(s) at our school and also someone the kids can share concerns with when they know things aren't going well with a classmate. If an SRO is the best person to meet these needs I'm for it.

If this makes the parents and students feel safe then please allow it. Thank u.
