I have a Blizzard Pearl RAV4 and I bought it used without a single problem. 5 mo the into ownership…and at 130,000 miles, the paint started coming off the top. Toyota has so many random rules to their customer care program, they randomly repaint some people’s cars but not others. Mine has fallen into the not repainting category and it’s not right or fair.

I have a 2016 super white Tacoma paint color 040. I’ve contacted Toyota multiple times over the past few months regarding my seriously problematic problems. I’ve made multiple posts on forms. I don’t seem to understand why there are people with the exact same make and model as me with a white truck that have paint problems that are getting covered by the customer support program.. yet for some reason my vin isn’t “covered” under the program? All trucks that are having the paint problem should be covered under under the program, especially considering mine is the same model and color as the ones being repainted. I was seriously considering trading in for a fourth GEN Tacoma or a tundra but if Toyota doesn’t fix my paint I will be going with another vehicle manufacturer when I get rid of this truck. I’d also like to add that I’ve been quoted from four different paint shops. All which say the paint can’t just be touched up… It’s on so many panels with so many affected areas that the entire truck needs to be repainted. I’ve been quoted between five and $6000 3 times and I don’t have that kind of money to dish out on a new paint job. It’s so bad that I’m gonna have trouble selling the truck because of it. This is not right and Toyota should do better.
