Please! Grafton was a truly wonderful place to grow up, to become a man, to develop as a human being, and a MAJOR reason for that was because I had the freedom to explore life without distraction or over-stimulation. Grafton is beautiful because it offers its citizens an exceptional amount of naturality and open space to just be. The material world can never offer what nature itself does; it is fundamental to our being human. So it is important to remember that "beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. The human question is not how many can survive, but what kind of existence is possible for those who do."

Also, Lake Shore Road is a popular route to Port Washington for joggers, bikes, hikers, etc. including public events such as the Lakefront Marathon and bike events, with hundreds, if not thousands, of participants. Allowing zoning R3 dense housing in that area would increase traffic and cause inconvenience for both the residents and participants. This would also raise safety concerns on the route through the Town of Grafton. The Town Board is morally responsible and sworn to uphold the safety and welfare of the Town.

No reason for lower densities for Town Property.

We moved here to get away from the city! Once you strip the land and turn it into subdivisions, there is no turning back. Protect the desires of the resident's who have invested in this beautiful country township and live here, NOW. Preserve our land and wildlife.

When is the next election cycle for town board supervisors? Do the tax paying citizens of the township have no say in the development of their own community?

The proposed zoning is a short-sighted approach that at face value appears to enrich only a very few. Please don't allow 1 acre lots within a mile of Lake Michigan in the Town of Grafton.

This is the wrong direction for the town. We live in the area because of the current zoning and 3/5 acre lots. Anything smaller than this destroys the character of why everyone in this area lives here.

pleas keep high density sub-divisions out of the town of Grafton.Maximum profit for land developers does nothing for town residents. If the town is looking to increase tax revenue by adding more homes to the tax base. does that not in turn create greater need for more services ,school expansion and possibly more roads ? wouldn't that defeat the purpose if more revenue is the goal?

I am against this new zoning. I like the country setting and with this zoning of smaller homes, the quiet natural setting will become just like the city of Milwaukee.

My husband and I purchased our home in the Beacons 5 years ago and specifically chose this area because of the acreage and space. Our land backs up to a large farm field. I cannot even imagine what that will look like in a few years of this is voted thru. I am absolutely stunned that this is even being considered. I vote NO!!

Rediculous! How can this even be considered for this area of Grafton? This clearly was not well thought out..

Rezoning these areas highlighted on the proposed amendment to allow 1 acre lots with 1,250 sq ft of living area East of 43 is NOT the right path for Grafton, in fact the exact opposite. Allowing such minimum standards for what? There is no true short term or long term benifits of allowing such minimum standards to the areas East of 43. Many of us live here based solely on the uniqueness of the area and to have the country living lifestyle. Double the taxes fine... But don't allow such rediculously low standards as proposed.

I disagree with the zoning plan of R3 and ask the board to revise that plan. I did not move to the town to be surrounded by small lot subdivisions. I would rather pay higher taxes to support the current lifestyle and ambiance the town affords. I feel the rezoning plan will destroy this way of life and the current rural feel of the area, not to mention destroying the habitat.
