I live in brampton because toronto does not allow chickens! The by-law should be changed. If hens are kept in a coop their is no smell, no noise, no problems.

People are allowed to raise dogs and cats, why not chickens?? What IS the reason behind that?? They are quiet, non-aggressive, clean up the backyard and the kitchen scraps, provide healthy eggs... Please remove that unsubstantiated ban!

I do not see why the City of Toronto would have an issue with one keeping chickens in their yard. They produce less waste and noise then dogs and they provide a sustainable source of food!

This is legal in Vancouver where we used to live. There's no good reason why this shouldn't also be legal in Toronto. It's time to end the power the corporate chicken companies.

So people can keep cats (that catch and eat birds) and dogs (that cause noise & excrement pollution, and bite people), but not quiet, harmless and healthy egg-producing chickens? What is the EXACT reason for this discrimination?

Every other Metropolis allows for backyard chickens for years now - Vancouver, New York, Los Angele Kingston and London among many others. We should have been leading the march ages ago on this subject. Get with the time T.O.
