I’ve been a bicyclist most of my life and long before it became popular. Bicycle lanes don’t work for me because there are too many motorized scooters and such in them which makes them dangerous for ordinary bicycles. I also occasionally drive downtown and they eliminate too many parking spaces. I bicycle in winter and find that they are clogged with snow. I felt better off before they were introduced.

Bloor St currently blocked. Cars sitting idling. Pollution increasing. Emergency vehicles at the moment stuck can not get through. How many lives need to be lost? Or is human life meaningless to planners?

Rush hour am and pm already jammed with 2 lanes— this changes will create gridlock and drivers will be using residential streets to escape and cause further unsafe conditions

Agree with everything above. Plus the lack of following the road rules, stopping at stop signs, lights, unsingled turns by cyclists. Weather challenges in the city make cycling dangerous.

Better planning needed. Some bike lanes should stay and others removed and redirect the bike traffic to less congested streets

I live in Rosedale every day, and the biggest challenge driving in Toronto is people who are riding bikes. It’s so dangerous for them!

It is time to replace the bike zealots at the city transportation department who are driving this rush to bike lanes. We need more sensible planners doing this work who recognize that cars are not going away any time soon.

Every time on drive on roads with dedicated bike lanes there are few bikes if any at all. In the winter time there is never any. Congestion is bad for the environment with idling cars and it is killing businesses.

Congestion is just getting worse and pollution and noise goes up as vehicles spend more time in grid lock because of lane restrictions and no left or right turning rules now everywhere on Bloor W due to installed bike lanes. I believe in sharing our roads with bikes but many more people drive then bike. It is also less safe for bikers to put bike lanes on the busiest roads.

I am a bike commuter myself but east-west lanes are not needed in Bloor west and Kingsway. Commuters use Humber or royal York for north - south and use side streets which are wide and don’t have street parking to travel east and west. This will impact the vibrancy of Bloor and isn’t worth the cost.

It’s ridiculous. The traffic in our city now with the slower speed limits like it’s crazy. All these bike lanes for 30 bikes to move when you got hundreds and thousands of cars that are being slow down
