To the Tooele County Commissioners
I have heard from eye witnesses who have read the Tooele Transcript that our county commissioners and friends are going to receive a bonus of $200,000.00 Federal Reserve Fiat coupons of the type “Green”. Due to the recent activity or lack of activity within our county’s economy, litigation woes, raise of taxation upon the public, and the fact that our commissioners already make $90,000.00 in yearly salary, I would recommend against allowing these funds to be used as a bonus to any county employees what so ever.

As a leader for our community I would implore you to place these funds into the city coffers or use them to pay off litigations against us, Tooele County, rather than to splurge on self-indulgence. Get used to the idea of self-sacrifice if you plan on being a community leader. As we say in the military “Mission First!”.

This is the type of selfish and ignorant greed that got this county deep into debt. The pay raises were unjustified, yet they did it anyway, and our county falls deeper in debt. Too many people have lost their jobs because of the inability of the county officials to properly do their jobs. We need people with honesty, integrity and a strong work ethic. Not these ones that use their self proclaimed entitlement and take from the hard working people of this county whom elected them to do good for the county. Not take from it while running it into the ground.
I'm okay for the lower wage earners but not for the Higher UP's.
Which is why I am wondering you are having a petition for something that helped the low man on the totem pole these are everyday people making an hourly wage just like yourself who have gone years without a raise and they get a one time bonus and you want to freak out over it.
We did not receive pay raises it was a one time bonus and we have not had cost of living or annual raises for quite a few years now.
May I also mention that your link for Utahs right to know is outdated by about 2 years.
You cannot be serious..... I am a county employee and a tax payer, Tooele has not had taxes raised in years and they finally did it and they are still the cheapest property tax in the state of Utah. The County Employees that are just getting by paycheck to paycheck like everyone else do not deserve anything? We are working our asses off and doing the job of 2 or 3 people we have not had cost of living raises or annual raises like most people for years so a little 2% bonus for me and my family meant the world at Christmas time and I could not thank our commissioners enough for giving us one as a thank you! Times are hard everywhere but I know you personally Dave and you work 3 jobs so I would think you would understand how hard people work to make ends meet and for a family of four my bonus went to good use and I am Damn glad I got one so how dare you try to make me feel bad about it.
All I can say is "WOW!"
