I think it's totally absurd that the time that school starts is this early. Other school start around 7-8am, so why can't we!

I work and go to school not to mention I have less sleep than 6 hrs a day the new time really is getting in my way I mean how can I learn if I'm thinking about sleep all the time.

I work until 10 most of my school nights, yes we might get out a bit later but we already do anyways , I have to leave my house at 6am and if I wake up late and leave at 6:10 the traffic is horrible , 3,000 students are trying to come in before "6:55" and the APs aren't able to understand us . It's very pointless to change the time because more people are late and more people have to suffer consequences. Let's be realistic if you're at your job and something comes up , and your late 10 minutes will your manager make you stay 2 hours after your actual shift time ? Will you have to sign a contract ? Will they call your parents ? They won't ! High school is a preparation for life and by making these ridiculous rules they are just " babying " us ,not getting us ready .

6:55-2:45 but we still dismiss late because announcements take forever or we wait on buses

I walk to school everyday and its not fun...I literally walk in the dark im surprised I haven't gotten attack or something like that XD

First of all, we already have so much homework that we sleep at 2in the morning (no its not procrastination,our AP classes shove papers down our throats) . Some of us have jobs,sibling to get ready in the morning,and other things that already keep us busy. Having to get there with 3-4 hours of sleep just wants to make us fall asleep in class even more,which only gets us in more trouble. It doesnt make sense that mac made the arrival time earlier to get us there on time this year. We are only going to get there later.

It isn't fair that we have to wake up early and get out the same time as before while we have extracurricular activities, and tons of homework. We're teens we need at least 8 hours sleep any less is hindering development and growth of both the mind and the body. Also less sleep means more kids will miss school and that means less attendance so less money for the school. Start school later and it's a win for everyone.

As teenagers most of us also have jobs, so it makes it harder for some of us to finish our homework AND wake up early. :/

Our district LOVES to complain about students being tardy. So what do they do? Make it even more impossible for us to get to school on time (-: !! Thx Craig!! I absolutely ADORE waking up at 4:30 every morning just to BARELY make it through the metal detectors
