Too Early to Function

School should start later so our brains can function better and learn

I think we need more rest and time to rest our. Bodies and mind and if we did we will be seen and more active at school.

They need to change the school times we wake up to early and don't get enough sleep this is like the 4 year straight someone has died from mac

my parents and I , both agree that this exactly the type of change that our school needs to avoid further accident such as the one that occurred today as well as helping our fellow classmates with getting to school on time and much more .

In my opinion aldine is unorganized

Students have tu rush to be on time , and there's a lot of traffic outside of the school because everyone is trying to be on time , even teachers .

I agree on the fact that school starts too early, it's very dangerous for the walkers and even bus riders while walking to the stop signs they can be hit by a car because it's complete darkness outside, the sun hasn't even came up yet and they have us going to school, it isn't fair to the students that are required to have a job that get home and have to do homework then get up extremely early just to make it to school on time. Not to mention the horrendous traffic that there is, they need to understand that there are many students at the school and that the come late stay late policy would be acceptable if we had to be in class at least later than 6:50am. I just want to make it clear that it is scientifically proven that our minds aren't functioning at that time, which leads the students, and myself, to fall asleep in class and fail for lack of focus. I, and many other people, believe that school should commence later than it is now, we actually don't need 3rd period, it's just a class to take up time during the day, we could go in later and even come out earlier if they really wanted to allow us, but they'd rather have us suffer through school instead of having us focus on our education, please fix this Aldine. I completely agree that this consequence for being late is ridiculous because traffic and many other factors of being late is out of student's hands. We are assigned stacks of homework every week and cannot possibly get as much sleep that we need to function in the morning. Another factor in being late is the horrible traffic because over 2,000 students attend MacArthur and not everyone can possibly make it on time. I'm not saying that being late is okay, but having to stay for TWO hours after school is something that no student wants which causes us to rush as fast as we can. Let this tragic accident be a reminder of what effect this policy has on every student in AISD.
