Nearly 3 years later both fighters have agreed to face one another again in a long awaited rematch. Since their first fight both fighters have switched promoter, broadcaster and most recently weight category. Over the past 12 months both fighters have been rebuilding their careers after suffered devastating knock out losses to world level opposition at light heavyweight. Both fighters have been facing C level opposition on SKY Sports as they rebuild their confidence and grow into their new weight division.
On the 1st October 2014 the rematch was officially confirmed by Eddie Hearn. The fight will take place on the 22nd November 2014 at Liverpool's Echo Arena. It's a fight boxing fans have been looking forward to however promoter Hearn dropped the bombshell the fight will be on Pay-Per-View channel SKY Box Office with the asking price likely to be set at £16.95.
We the boxing fans are unhappy with the decision of Eddie Hearn and SKY to make this fight a PPV event. This level of fight is what we expect to see on SKY Sports. Making this fight a PPV event devalues our SKY Sports subscription and shows a clear misunderstanding from the promoter and broadcaster as to what fans want and expect. There is no denying this is a great fight however there is no world title on the line, both fighters have been exposed at world level and neither is really proven at cruiserweight. The fact their first fight had so much more on the line and was free-to-air makes the decision to have the rematch on PPV incredibly questionable.
We ask Eddie Hearn and SKY to reconsider their decision to make this a PPV event. By signing this petition we confirm we will not be buying the PPV event on SKY Box Office. Some signing the petition will also be considering their future subscription to SKY Sports. We are not prepared to accept B and C level shows on SKY Sports Fight Night, as part of our regular subscription, with the fights we really want to see like Bellew Vs. Cleverly II being pushed onto SKY Box Office. We will not be treated like mugs!

im absolutley disgusted at this,every decent fight gets ppv,why should i pay more to my sky when i already pay £100+ a month? its not on when the premier league costs sky tv the most out of all the sports on tv but sky dont charge extra for it. if this fight goes ahead on ppv im cancelling my subscription to sky tv as a whole.
This is not a PPV level fight. It's a good one, but neither boxer is in a position to justify PPV. I buy Sky Sports ONLY for the boxing and am considering leaving.
This ridiculous that a show of this quality of profile should be made a pay per view; I would expect a show of such quality to be a regular on Sky Fight Night. I shall be cancelling my sky sports subscription shortly as the number of competitive boxing matches on Sky Sports has been very low.
A total disgrace, it's not a world super mega fight it's a typicsl domestic brawl, what future does boxing have if any remotely interesting fight is put straight on to PPV. PPV is killing boxing and limiting it's audience. No new fans are being created because of PPV.
A public house sky subscription is just over a £1000 a month, bt sport is £450 a month, sky box office ppv price will be x by 10 so that's another £150 for an event that will make no profit for a public house, absolutely ridiculous eddie.
I pay £120 a month for my sky and will be cancelling my subscription asap.
