I'm all for freedom of religion. I'm all for that! There has to be limits though. The location they are talking about is a residential zone. That means for residences. My area is a village office, which means my neighbors houses are getting torn down and turned into office buildings. I'm all for that too. If a church or school tried to build in my area they would say, "Sorry, but the area you requested is marked as village office." There would not be any question about it. Also, while we are talking about location, it's on church road. Have you driven on church road lately? It's one lane each way. It gets very congested easily, especially when Ocean County College classes end. Having a school on that road too would make it a nightmare! A bus trying to turn left into the lot, no cars letting it go, and by law you can't pass a school bus on the right, so that would cause a huge upset with people who are already fed up with the traffic.

The current zoning on this property and all the residential area should remain and no variances approved. All the evidence/reasons are clearly evident in the effects this has had on the town of Lakewood.

As a resident of Toms River, I feel we do not need another school in an area that is already congested and can not support increased traffic.

This is very nerve racking for my family and I. I have already lived through a takeover by these same behaviors while living in Lakewood from the 90's through the 2000's. Sadly my parents we're blockbustered and practically forced into selling their home for peanuts after witnessing a terrible crime and having to live in hell for years next to undersirables. Once enough homes were acquired the undeseribles were pushed out they moved in and schools and places of worship kept sprouting up like wild fires. My husband and I fought too hard to live in a town that was not tainted by these agressive tactics, disregard for rules, lack of contribution into taxes with the "house of worship" loop hole, sucking funding away from public school students, over building, over populating, etc. I know this is not a one size fits all community but I have unfortunately been so negatively affected by those bad apples that I plead that Toms River does not let's their guard down!

As a resident of Toms River, I strongly oppose the variance sought by the owner of 2001 Church Road. Allowing the property to operate as a school will have a paralyzing effect on the traffic of an already congested road, and will only get worse as the school expands

Hopefully our politicians will understand the this will snowball, It is never one school because they segregate males and females. Next they will want bussing and there will be 2 sets of busses because boys and girls cannot ride the same bus. They have already been given permits to circumvent the NO KNOCK ordinance so the realtors can attempt to strong arm people into selling. Our politicians can kiss their jobs goodbye and not because we vote them out, They will be voted out and replaced by the people of Lakewood.

This is nothing but a scam to avoid paying property taxes. If the township allows this to happen, that will be the beginning of turning Toms River into Lakewood!

I totally agree with every aspect of this petition to deny this variance. I read with great interest that over 350 properties in Lakewood are tax exempt.The burden of these exemptions are borne by the least able to afford higher taxes especially seniors with fixed incomes.
