This is a rather frivolous petition lobbying for English actor Tom Hiddleston (Loki, The Avengers; Captain James Nicholls, War Horse; and others) to be cast as the next Doctor Who. He's expressed interest, has enormous talent, & is quite widely known and respected. Let's get this out there & make BBC take notice!

The current volume of interest has reached a level that warrants formal communication with casting directors at the BBC. I am currently finalizing a cover letter to accompany these signatures for submission to their production office.

Spread the word, guys. I pinned it to several of my boards, but don't have a Tumblr account; nor do I have many Facebook friends that would care...ditto for Twitter - not many followers. :(
The Doctor could finally be ginger. That aside, Tom is an amazing actor and would play the role well.

Tom Hiddleston as the sixteenth Doctor would be what would breath new life into a dying franchise.
