To the San Jose City Council and San Jose Police Department,
We are writing to you on behalf of all those who have signed this online petition. We are gravely concerned to learn of the numerous recent events related to theft, battery, assault, and robberies that have occurred in the City of San Jose.
As a community, we can no longer stand by silently when many of our citizens have had our cars broken into both at home and in public parking lots in broad daylight. We have been robbed in busy shopping areas, and have suffered assault to the point that these incidents have resulted in death. We no longer feel safe. These attacks have targeted defenseless women and the elderly which in turn affects our families and communities. The number of victims have been steadily increasing as you have sat silently looking on.
We have created this online petition to raise awareness for the safety of the residents and visitors in our city, and to request increased involvement of the San Jose City Council and Police department.
It is imperative that you restore safety to our community and a sense of ease to our residents and visitors in the city of San Jose.

District 1 Councilperson, Chappie Jones said he’s looking into tapping government funding for a ‘task force,’ haven’t seen any action from his office since fall of 2019.
My car's window was broken twice during the daytime in San Jose and nothing was done about it and I am so tired of it. If SJPD can't do anything about it, then let the citizens raise the fund and hire private security firms to clean up the crimes.
This is a serious issue taht affected my family directly. Why is robbing tolorated in San Jose and California. Why there is no punishment for thieves and robbers. Why do they have a green light to rob anything under 1000?
My mom got rob at Costco on Senter Road in the parking lot on a busy day. No one could do anything, some great guy came to help but ended up let them go cause they have weapons. It is not safe anymore in San Jose nowadays!
Law enforcement must take action seriously. I brought my case (with video) to SJ police station but never hear back from them. Can we declare SJ the worse city to live in term of crime?
Hope The Government cares!

Frankly speaking, I do not feel safe to bring my family down to SJ visiting other family members nor shopping anymore. Too many robberies, windows breaking in, snatching purses and scams-faking got hit by a car and many many more...
