this ban is cutting hundreds if not thousands of children off from their community's, instead of banning social media outright they should force platforms to actually act against predators on their platforms
Honestly, this upcoming social media ban feels like a huge overreaction. It’s not going to fix the real issues it just sweeps them under the rug. Most people use these platforms to stay connected, share ideas, and keep up with the world. Banning them punishes everyone for the bad behavior of a few. Plus, people will just find workarounds anyway, so what’s the point? Instead of shutting things down, why not focus on better moderation and education? This move feels more like control than protection, and it’s definitely not the answer.
What happened to under 16 YouTuber who is working hard to edit and make good videos and sharing there passsion on making their video and the government just gonna delete our hard working channels
this is a human rights violation and overreach
There hasn’t been any public consultation about this ban. The stories supporting this ban is serious but it has taught a lot of lessons and more parents are aware of responsible use of social media. I am worried for my daughters as she will lose connectivity, find wrong ways around it and go backwards .. parents of teenagers and teenagers should be taught data literacy and responsible social media use. The risks of addictions, cyber bullying, ai algorithm etc still exists even with the ban so I don’t see the point . I am very well involved and aware of how my daughter’s use of social media and she is aware of how to block people esp toxic people. Most social median platform have rigid community guidelines now- smart phones don’t have this and their connectivity will happen unmonitored and u controlled which is worse than interacting on social media media- how are experts not seeing this ??
i think the age should be 13
Why is it illegal to use a public domain such as the internet freely?

This is also going to happen in UAE about 12 months and i don't want any of this to happen to other countries as well and this news isn't going to fix anything with what's actually happening and what was the point of learning how to protect yourselves from harmful content in social media at school? this is just another stupid ban that doesnt fix a single thing at all!
