When the council is trying to reduce traffic into Exeter, and putting up car parking, this is not an acceptable response.

The prices are disgusting

This increase is incredibly unfair, plus zero incentive to use public transport. It’ll be cheaper for me to drive into town and pay to park. I felt this before I was aware of the increase and I know I am not the only one who thinks this. So surely there is an environmental factor to think about with regards to the huge price increase, not just the financial impact it will have on families without cars.

This is far too much to pay for a child

I am absolutely fuming about the increase. Today I ended up paying £7 pounds for my 2 children I already pay out £69 a month and now instead of £1 each extra in expected to pay way above a normal increase!! But it's ok because dogs can now get on for free!!

I take my kids out with me all of the time to discover and enjoy all of the green spaces and parks. Won’t be able to do that so much now thanks to these greedy and thoughtless actions. A terrible move for Stagecoach South West

I am signing this petition because i think its outrageous to increase bus fares for kids how do they expect people with kids to travel they will find it hard. Everyone going on about too much traffic in exeter well now it will get worse as will be cheaper to drive than get the bus. Stagecoach earn enough money and should stop being greedy and keep the £1 add on make bus fares cheap so people will travel by bus its not rocket science

Just shocking... how can they do this to mums trying to get their kids to school without the huge cost it accrues each day ... sort it out stagecoach

Fat cats get greedier while yet again this massively effects families on low income or benefits. Just wrong

Stagecoach is the most expensive bus company. The fact that it's not even half fare for children to ride the bus is ridiculous. Competition is needed a different tender for the routes.

Travelling to work today listening to a small child who was obviously in his first year at school crying because his mum was explaining he d have to work to school and back everyday because she could nt afford the extra £4o a month bus fairs

As the bus is my only means of transport to get to work and get my kids to school on time every day, it is disgusting that you are penalising parents by raising your child fares from the £1 add on to £3 per child per day. That’s a worse increase than most loan lenders. Stagecoach, you should be ashamed.

This is rubbish Stagecoach. There are low-income parents who now can't afford to send their kids to school on the bus, how are they supposed to get there?? VERY POOR!

Absolutely ridiculous to increase the price to £3 a day for a child. As a single parent with 2 children one of which is 5 and the other coming up 5 I am never going to be able to afford this. Also living in the private rented sector with my rent at £800a month is already a struggle. This should be reconsidered.

Stagecoach seriously need some competition, as the only service provider in Exeter they can do as they like! This is a disgusting increase just as Exeter City Council are encouraging people to use public transport!

People will use the their cars even though car parks are expensive here as buses are unreliable - is this what the council wants!

An increase from £1 to £3 is financially impossible for most families. Keep the lower fares and we’d continue to use our bus. As it is, with 3 kids, we’ll be driving in and adding to the pollution and congestion in the city, which I believe ECC are trying to address.
