This is outrageous. Sustainable transport should be accessible to all, if anything I would hope prices would be lowered and services increased to encourage wider use.

How can this be right...if you want a green city and less congestion.

Bus fares are already incredibly expensive making them pretty unaffordable for low income families. This huge hike will make bus travel almost impossible, further polluting and congesting the city.
As it is, to travel to school each day by bus would cost ££24.50 per week. The increase would mean it costs £34.50. We already can't afford to travel to school by bus (plus no direct route), so drive instead. The cost increase would make it absolutely impossible- £40 extra to find a month!

Please reconsider! I want to be able to choose more sustainable transport options, but these prices are forcing me back in the car with my kids!!

I think this is absolutely disgusting,it cost us £5 a week for my sons add on to get to school and back now we will have to shell out £15 a week, absolute day light robbery, the service that stagecoach provides is shoddy at best anyway, rude drivers, busses never on time and forever over loaded with no more then 2 pushchairs at a time.......absolutely ridiculous!!!!

The traffic in Exeter is bad enough already. If the bus fares increase then more people will turn to cars. This is no good for congestion and air quality.

This is a huge blow to those of us who take children and grandchildren on buses. It will ensure that I use my car. Not what Exeter wants is it?

Raising a kids fare from £1 to £3 Is ridiculous how can you justify a 200% increase

This is absolutely ridiculous why change something that works so well and why such a big increase in add on cost I would a 50p increase or maybe a pound but any more is stupid

With two children it will cost me ten pounds, just to get into town. It would be the same price for a taxi. The prices are high enough as it is. They don't charge by how far you are travelling either, have to pay £1.80 per single journey, even if you are only on the bus for a minute. Its pure greed!

This is so unfair on people who rely on the buses and if councils want to encourage people to use public transport instead of driving their cars into city centres, then I'm afraid this won't work

It’s stupid! How do you expect anyone to get the bus when it’s more and more expensive. I remember when it cost £2 for a return

This is a stupid and short sighted move. Families should not be discriminated against in this way, particularly when the government is trying to increase use of public transport and reduce car ownership.

This price rise will not encourage families to use the bus and help ease congestion in the city or help Stagecoach who are already struggling. It more financially viable and convenient to drive and pay for parking in town.
