Don't abolish the £1 child add on especially when children are needing the tickets for school. Infact childrens fares should be free when they are going to school.

I thought we were trying to promote public transport as a cheaper, green alternative to over populated and polluted roads! £3 is far too expensive!

This is a disgrace. Lone parents are really going to struggle.

this hike is madness! keep the child addon. then have a separate child dayrider as well, for older children travelling on their own, whom are currently having to pay full adult fare if they travel much!

This penalises the poorest. Please consider other options and consult more widely before implementation.

Really appalled by this! Stagecoach are known for delays and being unreliable so why add to this? Why scrap the child add ons for the families that need it most? Will be contacting my MP!

This rise is ridiculous. How can it even be justified. Well they know they will get the money as parents have no choice to get kids to school. Shame on you!

No public consultation. No signage on the buses. Stagecoach doesn't even respect their customers enough to spellcheck their announcement... "With are withdrawing our £1 child 'add on'", "we have frozen the cost our kept increases to a minimum"?!

These private bus monopolies should be made to improve services & keep fares down in the public interest

I think it's ridiculous that they have to keep putting up the prices, they want us to stop driving & use public transport, how can we when it's gonna end up too expensive for bus tickets & they're also late

I'm sure they can subsidise this another way. How have they suddenly made pets free and put up the price of children?

Outrageous. I remember the expense of having to take children to RD&E, this discriminates against poor parents without a car but no travel subsidy unlike over 60s. Also discourages use of public transport in this city congested and polluted by traffic.

Initiatives which encourage people out of the private car and on to other modes of transport are so important; with congestion already a major issue in the city this seems like a contradictory move as it will force families back into their cars. Child add-on tickets also support families on low income, and the proposals will have a major impact on their lives. While the decision has obviously been a commercial one, the effects will impact on our social and environmental systems. Alternative methods of supporting Stagecoach’s economy must be explored in full with partner agencies before taking these measures which are completely opposite the principles of sustainability.
