Considering the USA was founded by fighting for freedom from the British empire and Ireland was founded the same way, I would have expected a different attitude from a newspaper published in the USA. That this newspaper is openly anti-Irish is a worrying and shocking trend which suggests that there is a thread of pro-Western imperialism alive and kicking in certain echelons of power and influence in the USA.

The loss of Irish lives (under any circumstance) seem to mean nothing to the Times. They certainly fell short on "all the news fit to print".

As a us, irish-american; i believe the public firmly believed "irish" trsnslates to drunk.. And the public believes every biased article printed.
