To Remove candidacy from Association of Independent College's
To ATS we are students and alumnus of Andersonville Theological Seminary. We are grateful for the educational opportunity provided to us by Andersonville. We have had a chance at a theological education at an affordable tuition rate and this has allowed me to attend the school and to grow in my knowledge of theology. We also take note of the improvements to the Seminary ranging from faculty with accredited credentials to technological upgrades for course delivery.
Our concern is with some of the actions of ATS with regard to credibility. Specifically, the seeking of accreditation by unrecognized accreditors that provide no benefit to the degree or student and in fact may bring the Seminary and the cause of Christ into disrepute. Please take in consideration for the Seminary to seek accreditation that is recognized by a US Department of Education and or CHEA recognized accrediting agency. If that is not possible, it is preferable that ATS remain honorably unaccredited and continue to improve the caliber of faculty (accredited doctorates in their field), continue to upgrade the technology used to deliver courses, and ensure that course requirements parallel accredited seminaries and Bible Colleges.
