This is a worthwhile cause for children and it is high time that the Irish authorities took a more efficient, inclusive, and professional approach to adoption.

If anything can speed up the process of a child avoiding neglect and finding a loving home, then I'm all for it.

It's disgraceful that the Irish government have made it next to impossible to adopt and that they are ignoring the situation and hiding behind the legislation when challenged.

The prolonged unnecessary institutionalisation of children post Hague is of benefit to no one. Why have a system that fails both sides?

Why should the innocent suffer - please act now and let the children grown up in loving homes not in orphanages

When we adopted our sibling children in 2005 and 2008, I thought our process was interminably long and painful, and made an award-winning radio documentary for RTE about the process (http://www.rte.ie/radio1/doconone/adoption-ireland-guatemala-adopting.html). The situation now is far far worse than anything our family experienced, and We urge the government to address the current impasse in the Intercountry Adoption process.

As an adoptive parent, I strongly support this petition. We all want ethical adoption processes, especially when we speak to our children in the future about their adoptions. However, the AAI have unnecessarily complicated the process and are not I

As an Adoptive parent I support this petition, it is no longer acceptable that Adoptions have ground to a halt in Ireland........ PAP's can accept a downward trend but not a complete standstill due to a lack of preparation for the implementation of the Hague convention. The system in Ireland is failing the children. Please those in power make it possible for children in need to find forever families in Ireland.

So many children available for inter-country adoption, so many paps 'paper ready and waiting for the green light. After 8 years of going through the process my husband & I were so lucky to adopt little Indian princess in August 2013. Minister & AAI, please support this petition, these waiting children & paps need your support to be united ASAP. They deserve to feel the joy that we are experiencing as a new family, our daughter is a very bright little girl & she is thriving.
