If children were really at the centre of adoption then we would have a system fit for purpose which was actually functioning.

I am 41 and my husband is 38 and we are too old to adopt why is this when we can provide a loving secure and hapoy life for ant child in need of it why leave children in the system when there are so many childless couples desperate to share their luves and homes

The nonsense bureaucracy of this country has dictated the size of my family. So many people have been left to deal with bitter disappointment. Its a disgrace.

No more ready made answers from the AAI. No more statistics to cover up for the fact that Ireland is light years behind from other EU countries. Citizens are planning to renounce Irish citizenship and move to Northern Ireland and UK to have the possibility to have a family. How can this be right for Ireland?

Frances Fitzgerald left this mess and Charles Flanagan will now have to deal with citizens that had enough of being treated like second class and being made feel guilty for wanting to provide a family for a child in need.

Why are agencies being accredited only in 2014 if the AAI have been receiving salaries and bonuses since 2010? What exactly is the AAI doing if they are not effecting adoptions? Are they drawing salaries to just sign off on paperwork from the HSE/Tusla?

Once you manage to obtain your declaration of eligibility and suitability to adopt from the AAI you never hear from them again.

We could have adopted a second child to complete our family but because the process on the Irish side takes so long, knocks us out of the running.
