Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Taking away freedom for our dogs!

In passing this order, you will be penalising the thousands of responsible dog owners. You will also irrevocably harm dog-owning tourist who travel to our beautiful island to enjoy the beaches, parks and other areas. Many many pet dogs cannot be left alone in rented tourism accommodation, and most owners would not do so anyway. These tourists and their monies will instead choose to holiday elsewhere, where their dogs, who are their family members, are welcome.

I come to the Island several times a year especially to walk my dog on your beaches. This decision to try and ban dogs would do serious damage to your tourism and reputation as being a dog friendly Island.

Enough bans are in place at the moment.

Really can't see where the Council are coming from on this one!!

Staggering lack of understanding from the IWC.

So at last the Island is seeing a resurgence in popularity, both to live and spend vacation, and here they come ! That unbelievable group, lead by a Council who have their outlook for the Island solidly stuck in the past!! Time to make these irresponsible officers answer for their ridiculous plans that will stem the Islands resurgence!!

Please stop taking away peoples enjoyment, time spent walking a dog on the beach etc is so beneficial for peoples health as is horse riding on the beach. I do not recognise this island now from the beautiful place we moved to in 1978, was a much nicer place then without all the restrictions we have now, be it exclusions from places or parking charges/restrictions etc, it is killing this island and peoples enjoyment of it, please STOP!

I cannot see the reasoning behind not allowing our four legged pets enjoying the public spaces the same as we do. As long as they are under control and people clean up after them what is the problem? I am all for dogs being allowed in public spaces.

We have a lovely puppy who loves visiting all the lovely places on the Island. We always clean up after her & happily keep her on a lead when required.

Dogs are part of the family, as long as we all clean up mess, or if aggressive keep them on a lead, then what's the problem?

We are restricted anyway in using the beaches in the summer so please let us have some fun in the winter with our dogs!!!!

There is already a dog free beach at Appley. Will horses be banned as they make more mess (which does not get cleaned up). I walk there daily and rarely see “Dog mess” in the ground

Stupid idea! I don’t even have a dog!

i think this is totally ridiculous maybe sort out humans first that leave all these litter about etc
