Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Madness. This will lead to a massive downturn in tourist. Who thought up this ridiculous idea?

Have the IWC lost the plot most tourism places are welcoming dog as not banning them.

I would like instead to see wardens on patrol that fine anyone caught not picking up their dogs mess that way you punish the few that give dog walkers a bad name & the same rule should apply to all those people that leave their mess all over the beautiful beaches barbecues & beer cans etc

Please keep the beaches open to responsible dog owners.Leave them open for all to enjoy!

Many people should be banned, not dogs! People cause much more unsocial behaviour.

We need these places to be kept open for dogs as the island has a great number of tourists that enjoy the different areas.

For a supposedly dog friendly holiday destination this is the height of stupidity!

Dogs have owners, may as well just ban people from the parks and open spaces

So do the Council want to upset visitors with dogs, this is a good way of going about it

This is the most ridiculous idea the council has had. Not only for Islanders with dogs but for our main industry....tourism. Totally bonkers

You could ask how the IOW Council could be so out of touch, but they aren't. Their anti dog proposals have been overwhelming rejected by us time and time again in the past. Yet here we are again, wasting our money on a consultation over whether to have another anti dog consultation! You couldn't make it up. Just how much of our money has already been wasted on these proposals I shudder to think. All those maps have been produced to exclude us from the public cemeteries and other spaces at our expense. Take Ryde cemetery for instance, the Council Tax of poor people is being used to maintain the graves of the rich and now they don't even want us the walk our dogs in their. (That's when this disgraceful Council even bother to unlock the gates)

It's a holiday island: already the train service is minimal ( I used to travel to school on it in the days of steam) and now a farcical suggestion by the Council to restrict dogs from open spaces defies understanding and would further jeapordise its charm and attraction as a holiday venue - something that a large proportion of the workforce lures on each year. Come on IoW Council, stop listening to the lunatic fringe and carry on managing the Island professionally.

Absolutely ridiculous. The council doesn’t know what to be up to next.

Typical of short sighted council

Humans make much more mess than any dogs ....absolutely ridiculous to ban dogs.

After 50 years visiting the Island and with a property on the Island this ban on dogs seems ludicrous as dog owners constitute 1:4 households
