This is an outrageous proposal and I would like to know when and if we as residents of the IW get our say?

Love visiting family on Iow, was considering moving there because they are so accommodating towards dogs. Cannot imagine going again if they are so restrictive about where dogs can be.

No reason for this to happen. DNA samples taken when chiping. Stops owners letting dogs defecating. In public places. I've written to my local councillor re this. Who's environmental councillor.

This is robbing us of our liberty to enjoy our dogs responsibly

Very short sighted in my opinion. Just provide better facilities for people to clean up after their dog and implement higher penalties for those that dont.

I've just got back from Cornwall and everywhere is dog friendly the island needs to be the same.... So many people have dogs these days and live to walk them along the beaches here.

One of the highlights of living here is accessing those very places with my dogs.

How ridiculous. Who came up with that idea. Have they nothing better to do.

A really bad move which will discourage visitors who enjoy holidays with their dogs. Not good for the tourist trade which is so important for the Island’s economy.

Can we not ban councillors from beaches and public areas instead.

CUURENT BYELAWS PROVIDE ADEQUATE POWERS EXCEPT DOGS OFF LEADS IN CEMETARIES. BETTER ENFORCEMENT AND EDUCATION REQUIRED. MOST DOG WALKERS RESPECT CEMETARIES AND BEACHES AND PROVIDE EYES AND EARS FOR COUNCIL.

Ridiculous idea. Not only for tourism but for also for local individuals. This will negatively impact the whole island.

We are a dog friendly isle. Why let a few spoil it for the majority.

The island needs to remain dog friendly as they are members of the family too. Holiday makers bring their dogs and from the comments I've heard from visitors, it's one of the main reasons they love the island - for it being dog friendly.
