Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Don't tar all dog walkers with the same brush. Most of us are responsible and conscientious.

How short sighted of the IOW council. This will not only have a negative affect on local residents but also the island's tourism.

I actually can’t believe the proposals go so far. Playgrounds I understand but St.Helens Duver to name but 1?! We should pride ourselves on the fact we are dog friendly on the island.

It's bad enough we have to stop using the local beach all summer as it is.

So please tell me where people can walk their dogs,as most land is privately owned or public.

We are advertising being a dog friendly island another nail in the coffin for our tourist industry

We moved to the island 2 years ago, we love the fact we can take our dog with us when we are out and about. We understand the rules for the summer but why punish responsible dog owners the rest of the year.

Dogs are a vital part of many people's wellbeing...faithful companions..who enable and promote people to take more walks than perhaps they wouldn't do if they didn't have a dog. Why take away their freedom of where they can and can't go

There are enough restrictions on dogs and there human families already. It is a tiny minority of owners that are irresponsible dont blanket ban all the responsible owners. Work with them to report the bad òwners

We often take our dogs to Appley beach then go to the beach cafe for breakfast or lunch. A ban would be awful but can see dog fouling is a big problem. We always clear up after our dogs and most owners do. The minority spoil it for all!

Dogs should not be banned from having fun. Taking away there rights.

Stupid idea which will harm the wellbeing of both dogs and owners ,people drinking on benches throughout the day drunk and swearing then leaving bottles and cans cause more trouble then dogs .

The proposed dog ban is rediculous. Maybe better focussed on fining horse owners from allowing their horses from fouling public footpaths and highways.

A case of shortsighted dictators! What happened to asking the people they represent for their opinions!!

We're not allowed to have a dog, so meeting dogs on our beach walks is the highlight of the walk. This is the most ridiculous and pathetic idea ever. Most people bring their dogs on holiday as well. It's bad enough with the ferry prices, but if they can't take their dogs on the beaches as well, then they'll just not bother. We're a nation of animal lovers. No ban here!

The ban and lead restriction will only punish the already responsible dog walkers.

This is not the way to encourage people to live a healthy lifestyle, the only reason some people actually leave the house is to walk their dog. This will lead to an increased cost to the nhs due to obesity, depression and all the other health issues around not owning and exercising a dog.

What a ridiculous idea, come on council haven’t you got anything better to do.
